Community

CarryMe is all about the community. As a community interest company (C.I.C.) in Hackney, east London, we are a LOT more than “just a bike shop”! (Although of course bike shops are awesome!)

Our CURRENT project is the Long-Term Library#LongTermLibrary – borrow child-carrying items to fit to your own bike for 6 months or MORE!

When we’re lucky enough to win grant funding, we can run projects to help people take to two wheels. They’re all on the CarryMe theme – carrying kids, carrying cargo!

We can also be paid by local authorities and others to take part in events. We run a fun and eye-catching stall, which inspires and educates people to choose pedal power for carrying kids and cargo.

Events

Calling local authorities: we can take part in your events! Contact us to talk about what you’d like to commission us to do – and check out what we’ve done in the past for some inspiration!

Current projects

See #LongTermLibrary for full list of dates.

The project sessions have ended for 2025 now – Hopefully we will be able to start it up again in Spring 2026, with confirmation from the funder!

NOTE: We do have a very small amount of kit left over. If you come in to test ride our cargo bikes, it may be possible for you to check out the remaining Library kit. It might as well be lent out, rather than sitting in our shed over the Winter. See our Instagram post about what kit we have left – it’s not much! So contact us to book a slot!
