A lovely family who bought this Bertus from CarryMe in July 2023 are now buying an electric Bakfiets Long Classic from us, so they’re sadly waving goodbye to their lovely Bertus! They used it lightly, not for the nursery or school run, but mainly for trips out at the weekend. You can see that the little knobbles on the tyres are still intact!

They lived somewhere pretty flat, where this bike is great for cycling, with 7 Nexus hub gears and roller brakes front and rear it’s low maintenance. It’s surprisingly light and nippy, and suitable for younger kids – up to 60kg can be carried inside the box.

Included in the price is:

extra-strong rear rack (useful for an extra basket or even a child seat)
second bench seat for 1 child which the previous owners never installed (includes seat belt) – we can install this for you for an extra fee
black double cushion on which both kids on the main seat can sit

If you were to buy all those accessories new now it will cost you £2,444 so this is a real bargain and won’t hang around for long.

If you wanted to buy the rain tent for the box, a gloss black one is available for £368 or various colours in a matt/tweed texture for £477.

We are also including a Raleigh Stride 2 flat cover for the box with this sale, at no extra cost, and we will fit that for you if you want it. The flat cover is great for stopping rain getting in the box, or for when it’s parked up, stopping passers by chucking litter in it! And many parents find that it’s a nice lap-cover for the kids – pull it up to their laps then secure it back for extra cosiness on colder days.

It has front and rear lights with their own AA or AAA batteries, and the bike itself is in great condition, recently serviced by us and only ridden on test rides since. It also has two new sets of seat belts fitted on the main bench seat.
