FINAL Islington #FamilyCyclingLibrary: Sun 6 Sept 2026!

Don’t miss us! This Sunday 6 Sept 2026 we’re running the FINAL Islington event of the Family Cycling Library ‘LongTerm Library’ sessions.
Visit us at the Angel Canal Festival from 11am and let us help you borrow a child seat for your bike for 6 months or more. We also have a Tag-along bike for an older child to be attached to your bike via their bike, and we have older kids’ seats too (but you may need an extra-strong pannier rack for those).
We will also have a very small number of trailers and bicycles to lend out! They are for less borrowing time – usually 2 months max.
The idea of the LongTerm Library project is to provide a safe, low-cost opportunity for families to test out a way of carrying their kid(s) by bike. Normally you have your own safe, working bicycle and we help you attach a seat or trailer safely to it. It’s a bit of a minefield and not all bikes suit all seats or trailers, so we are here to advise and help!
You try something out for a few months, then if it works for you, we may be able to let you keep the item as long as you make a donation so that we can obtain another item to replace it in the Library. (We can buy them in at wholesale price, and we are also lucky to receive donations of seats from other families!)
Or, often we can offer you the purchase of a brand new item, to purchase at a small discount (for taking part in the project). This is often an equivalent item to the one you tried, or the same one, simply a new one.
Or, just give the item back to us at the end of the loan period, and we will lend it to another family!
Hope to see you on Sunday!
Note: If we run out of kit to lend, we may pack up and finish early!
FINAL, FINAL event: On Sunday 20 Sept we will hold the very final session of the Learning Library project, in Victoria Park from 10am as part of the London Cycling Festival. More info about this is to come! Sign up to our newsletter and keep an eye out on our socials!
