This canopy is made of PAC (Polyacrylic), also known for use in boat covers, for example.
PAC has the following properties;

– Waterproof (inside)
– High UV resistance
– can withstand moisture well, it does not mold/rot.
– Wear-resistant
By using a canopy over your box you also prevent too much water from entering the box, which of course also extends the lifespan of the wooden box and has the added benefit of: the seat is always dry!
